STICK TO YOUR GUNS w/ STRAY FROM THE PATH | Hard Luck Bar

Canadians were in for a long anticipated wait since the announcement of the tour back in May of this year. The Diamond Tour covered its first stop in Toronto at the ever so intimate Hard Luck Bar on Tuesday September 24th. Headliners Stick to Your Guns, and supporting acts Stray From the Path and Hundredth left a full house front to back. Starting the night off right were locals Partycat and Drag the Lake.

The intimacy according to the setting of the venue versus hosting a hardcore bill creates for the utter most memorable experience. The minuscule line bordering the pit created no real definite separation of the crowd, as this was a packed house. The entire south side of the wall was decked out with a variety of hanging merch illuminated by headlights making it nearly impossible for you to not look at it and take a gander. The variety each band sells makes it easy for anyone to pick something up and keep the support rolling.

Hundredth released their latest EP “Revolt” through Mediaskare on March 19, 2013. Although this release is still new, singer Chadwick Johnson still recommended everyone go download it for free which really insinuates genuine passion for music hearing it from successful bands knowing they’re in it for the right reasons. As solid as “Revolt” is, the crowd still stepped it up a notch when they played material from “Let Go” that was released in 2011.

If it is possible to apply the richter scale to the intensity radiating off of the crowd when Stray From the Path opened with “Badge and a Bullet” it would have gone from a 7.5 to a 10.0 and over. Photographers were competing for the perfect window, crowd surfers were making the stage their home and the heat of the earthquake in there was tenfold. Stray just dropped their latest full-length titled “Anonymous” last week via Sumerian Records, just in time to show us what they’re really made of. Not a single ounce of disappointment from this record and translated to their live performance left zero doubt. We even saw a familiar face as Andrew Neufeld from Comeback Kid shared the mic halfway through their set. This is a band that brings it and stole the show that night.

Stick to Your Guns kept the ball rolling and did their thing as expected.  After a strong opening with their album and tour titled track “Diamond”, fans reacted positively and enthusiastically to the new album that was released last year via Sumerian Records. We’re expecting their return soon as they hit the road with The Story So Far this coming November, specifically the Phoenix Concert Theater on the 27th. Grab your tickets HERE via Show Stubs before it sells out!
