The Sphinx Invades Canada Tour set foot in London Music Hall Friday night. Born of Osiris brought much anticipation among fans with special guests City in the Sea and I, The Breather.

The first band to hit the stage was London’s own Wind Cries Mary.  This 5-piece metal core band got the crowd moving and rowdy for the acts to follow. Wind Cries Mary put on a great show with their new vocalist doing a great job of filling the role of front man.

The Wedding Party, another local band, was up next, their performance was rather flat;  but they picked up the crowd with the mention of a music video being filmed.

The first band from the tour package was a band called City in the Sea. A 5 piece metalcore act signed to Sumerian Records. They mix a more classic metalcore sound with fast catchy riffs and heavy breakdowns with the occasional clean singing. They took a very stagnant crowd and managed to get a lot of movement.

Their lead vocalist commanded the crowd and managed to get a lot of interaction. Their clean vocalist was very on key and did not disappoint from their recordings, overall a very tight performance.

The second band; I, the Breather– a Christian metalcore band that uses very catchy breakdown oriented riffs with higher-yelled vocals, played a very professional and tight set. Their guitarists were very in sync and the stage presence of the whole band was huge. At every breakdown they got the pit going and made sure that there was no break in the intensity. Their vocalist crowd surfed while doing vocals during their last song and defiantly bought the hearts of the London crowd for their first time playing there.

Finally, Born of Osiris hit the stage; attracting the biggest crowd of the night. With the departure of their former lead guitarist, their live performance was defiantly under the spotlight for many of their fans. However with only one guitarist they managed to make you forget that there was something missing.

Lee Mckinney, their current and only guitar player; managed to pull off every crazy guitar solo and lick with perfection. They played a good mix of new and old songs to keep their varying fan base happy as their sound has changed a lot over the years. Their keyboard player/backup vocalist Joe Buras was a big part of what made their live show so good.

Born of Osiris defiantly showed everyone that they are not dead and that they are on top of their game.
