Toronto metaller’s Exes for Eyes are stoked to bring to you their debut self-titled single from their sophomore album Tongues Like Figure Eights that is set to be released this Spring.
Since the release of The Amsler Grid in 2011 (download here), Exes For Eyes have been hard at it; working on new music, side projects (Endast, Metal Mics by Big James, Elegy Guitarworks) and hitting the road on their cross Canada “Flight Of The Navigation Tour” earlier this year.
“We’ve been working extremely hard on this album for a long time.” explains frontman and vocalist Big James Arsenian;
“When we did our first album, The Amsler Grid, it was just me and (guitarist) Dave Sheldon writing and recording everything ourselves. This time around we have a full band and some REALLY incredible guest performances.”
Guests on the album include vocalists Bjorn ‘Speed’ Strid (Soilwork) and Lisa Sinner (Out Of The Ruins) as well as guitar player Dominic Cifarelli (Scars On Broadway\Chronices of Israfel).
With the exact release date still to be announced but aimed to be out this Spring, this album is much anticipated and sure to be a heavy-hitter:
Guitarist Dave Sheldon weighs in adding, “I’m very excited for people to hear the growth of the band. This album dives into some very dark areas of life that The Amsler Grid didn’t have. A lot has happened to each of us over the last few years, some of it good, some of it REALLY bad, and we touch down on all of it. Party songs still know how to party, and the darker stuff gets pretty fucking omnious. I think people that enjoyed our first effort will still love this album, and for the people that didn’t think The Amsler Grid was metal enough? They’re going to be pleasantly surprised with Tongues Like Figure Eights!”
