WORDS BY: JEANETTE LEBLANC
The time has come, on July 1st New York’s hardcore 16 year old veterans Every Time I Die will be releasing their latest album From Parts Unknown to the world via Epitaph Records (pre-order here).
Their brand new video for “Thirst” (can be seen below) is the first half of a short series that sheds light on the new tunage, and boy is it heavy! “Thirst” brings fans back to the old ETID and OG post-punk days where people just jammed and got up to crazy shenanigans. There is no over-done production, snazzy outfits, fireworks, or expensive cars; it’s just a whole lot of booze and fun.
Vocalist Keith Buckley weighs in about the upcoming release saying “Instead of making something that the kids can all sing along to, we wanted to make music that scares them”.
Having stepped into the studio with producer Kurt Ballou (Converge co-founder), ETID went in with the pedal to the floor.
“Working with Kurt was stressful in the best way, like when your dad comes to watch you play baseball for the first time and you just want to make him proud,” Buckley adds about discussing Ballou’s pressure to push themselves to the max.
In return, From Parts Unknown is set to bring forth a whole other level from the band that fans are awaiting eagerly for. With guest vocals from Brian Fallon (Gaslight Anthem) and Sean Ingram (Coalesce).
You can catch Every Time I Die on this year’s Vans Warped Tour which is set to hit the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto on July 4th!
