WORDS BY: JEANETTE LEBLANC

A lot has been happening in the world of Slipknot the past few months. With the release of 5: The Gray Chapter set to take place on October 21st, 2014 via Road Runner Records, fans have been anticipating the unmasking of new members in replacement of the late Paul Gray (bass) and departing founding member Joey Jordison (drums).

With rumors of possible drum tracking from Chris Adler (Lamb Of God) being fictitious, the current assumption is that the role has been taken over by punk/hardcore drummer Jay Weinberg (Against Me!, Madball).

The role of the new bass player is confidently assumed to be Alessandro ‘Vman’ Venturella (guitar tech; Mastodon, Coheed & Cambria, Fightstar).

Both assumptions are hailing from footage of the two in the band’s brand new video for “The Devil In I”. Venturella in particular being pretty obvious from the look of his distinctive hand tattoo. You can guess for yourself by watching the video below!

“The Devil in I” also reveals new and updated masks from members of the band, the most talked about one being Corey Taylor’s (vocals) insane leather face styled look.

Slipknot’s Prepare For Hell Tour with KoRn and King 810 is set to hit the Air Canada Center in Toronto on November 30th. (Tickets via Live Nation)
