On Tuesday December 3rd Issues with Polyphia, Lil Aaron, Sleep Token and Another Day Dawns played to a packed crowd at The Opera House in Toronto.

Polyphia took to the stage before the headliner, Issues. They are a primarily instrumental progressive rock band that formed in Dallas, Texas in 2010. The show began and I wasn’t sure what to expect without a vocalist, because their band doesn’t have one. They blew everyone away with their progressive rock sound mixed in with rock funk and metal electronic. Boy did they deliver shredding on the bass, guitar and the drums, Starting the show with their hit “G.O.A.T” and ending it with “Euphoria”.  Their whole sound and delivery was epic and super tight throughout the performance.

Next up was the headliner Issues. They formed in Atlanta, Georgia back in 2012. They are considered to be a metalcore band but also have a combination of nu metal and pop sprinkled into their sound. Their whole performance was super energetic and great vocals were delivered from lead singer Tyler Carter.
They began the show with “Here’s to You” off their brand-new album Beautiful Oblivion.  It was interesting to hear the contrast between Tyler’s clean and unclean vocals as he sang songs from different albums because over the years Issues sound has really changed, but each album includes a dynamic range of music genres so all the songs they picked really worked with each other. They ended the show with their song “COMA” off their album 2016 album Headspace  and from everyone’s faces and reactions they really blew everyone away.
