Sinthetik kicked things off with a bang as they ripped through their powerful and heavy as hell set. Fans were chanting, screaming, and moshing along throughout their entire performance. They made for a perfect opener and did an excellent job at warming up the crowd.
As fans waited for Nekrogoblikon to hit the stage, something random and completely out of the blue happened; as we were greeted by comedian Dave Rispoli who brought some pretty hilarious metal comedy to the stage. He had fans yelling out profanities and had recovering alcoholics running as far away from the venue as they could.
Finally after many many many beers were consumed and many more profanities were yelled from the audience, the time came for Nekrogoblikon to take the stage. The band was greeted by a very enthusiastic John Goblikon. Fans were going bonkers; and singing, screaming and crowd surfing along to their favorite songs.
Nekrogoblikon was hilarious, the intimate setting allowed for conversational interactions with vocalist Nicholas Von Doom who managed to chug a few beers, make Rob Ford crack jokes and swim in his pool of goblin spit all over the stage, apparently the fans dig that shit because one guy was stoked enough to put a drool infested set list into his pocket before the show ended.
Overall, the show was a drunken, hilarious- metal-filled evening and every single face in the crowd was smiling and happy. Nekrogoblikon have proven themselves as a must see live band. No matter what kind of stuff you’re into- these guys will give you a show that won’t disappoint.
