On December 20th, 2013; the 8:18 Tour made it’s way to a jammed packed Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto. Headliners, The Devil Wears Prada were supported by The Ghost Inside, Volumes and Texas In July. The anticipations were high and the pit was heavy!
The first band we caught was LA’s Groove-Metaller’s Volumes. The dual vocals band was powerful and had the crowd moving in sync with their heavy breakdowns and chanting along to their catchy choruses.
Up next, the time came for The Ghost Inside- whom at this particular show felt as though they could have been a toss up for headlining. Their set was intense; bodies were flying through the air and fans were dying to get upfront.
The Ghost Inside’s sound and backtracks created an intense build-up of emotions as you sat at the edge of your seat throughout their entire performance.
The Devil Wears Prada were welcomed on stage by screaming chants from the crowd- who’s capacity had increased by this point. Fans were going wild for both old and new songs off of their latest release “8:18” (2013 via Road Runner Records).
The crowd somehow kept the momentum going strong as TDWP wreaked havoc throughout the entire venue. The screams and cheers could have been heard throughout the entire city of Toronto.
Over-all, this show made for a “Metal-core Heads” perfect line-up; as it offered your perfect dose of breakdowns, gang vocals, riffage, blast beats and circle pits. It’s safe to say this 8:18 Tour stop was a success.
