CONCERT COVERAGE: VAMPIRE WEEKEND | ECHO BEACH

Words / Photography by: Jerome Joyce

Vampire Weekend, New York’s dynamic rock band started off their “Father of the Bride” tour in Toronto at RBC Echo Beach on June 6th, 2019 in what would be less then ideal conditions with the heavy amount of rain.

With the possibility that the show wouldn’t even happen, the now 7 piece lead by frontman, Ezra Koenig gave the fans a solid 26 track, request taking encore performance as a thank you to the fans dressed in their rainboots, jackets and ponchos.

Fortunately enough, the rain held off for all to enjoy the solid mix of songs from 2009’s Self titled to the newly released, 2019’s Father Of The Bride, in which this tour is named after.

All things considered weather wise, this eclectic, dynamic musical group gave the fans what they wanted…a reason to sing and dance all night long to which, myself included did.
